Mark Goodman, Chairman
Mr. Goodman is currently the President of Dundee Corporation and is on the Board of Directors of Oxford Mining Corporation. He has previously sat on the board of Nighthawk Hold, Corona Gold Corporation, Ryan Gold Corporation and Valdez Gold.
Birks Bovaird, Director
Mr. Bovaird is a Director and Chairman of the Board of Energy Fuels Inc., a uranium, vanadium and rare earths mining, development and production company. He is also currently Chairman of the Board of Buccaneer Gold Corp. and is an independent Director and Chair of the compensation committee of Noble Mineral Resources. Mr. Bovaird is a graduate of Concordia University in Montreal, and a graduate of the Directors Education Program of the Institute of Corporate Directors at the Rotman School of Business and holds the ICD.D designation.
Mr. Bovaird is a Consultant, providing advisory services to natural resource companies. For the majority of his career, Mr. Bovaird’s focus has been the provision and implementation of corporate financial consulting and strategic planning services. After spending over two decades with various financial institutions, culminating in the role of Managing Director of the Canadian operations of an international bank, he took on the role of Vice President of Corporate Finance for one of Canada’s major accounting firms. Mr. Bovaird has previously been involved with numerous public resource and non-resource companies, both as a member of management and as a director.
Matthew Rees, M.Sc., P.Geo, Director
Mr. Rees is currently the Chief Geologist of IAMGOLD Corporation and over a 10 year span at the company has been part of the exploration team that has successfully acquired or discovered 29.1 Million ounces of gold over the last decade from 2012 to 2022.
In a career spanning over 40 years so far, Mr. Rees has also been the Chief Geologist and later Vice President of Exploration for Stockport Exploration (formerly Linear Metals, 6 years), an independent consulting geologist, a Project and Senior Geologist with Noranda-Falconbridge (18 years), as well as various stints with other major mining and junior exploration companies. During this career he has worked in numerous countries around the globe, from Mexico to Mongolia, and across Canada from coast to coast to coast. Mr. Rees holds a M.Sc. in Geology (University of Saskatchewan), is a Professional Geologist registered in Ontario, and is a member of PDAC, AME and SEG.
Eric Szustak, Director
Mr. Szustak is a Chartered Public Accountant, CA with over 32 years of financial service, business development, marketing, accounting, and CFO experience. Mr. Szustak has worked at both small and large national accounting firms advising small and mid-sized businesses. His background includes 14 years with three national brokerage firms, Midland Walwyn, Merrill Lynch and BMO Nesbitt Burns, in various positions including private client wealth group, management, and securities compliance. Mr. Szustak holds a B.A. Honors Chartered Account Studies and Economics from the University of Waterloo and received his Chartered Accountant designation in 1985.
Michael Waring, Director
Mr. Waring graduated from McGill University with a BA degree in Physical Geography followed by an MBA degree from the University of Western Ontario. After spending three years working at Wood Gundy as a research analyst and earning a CFA designation, Michael was hired by Knight Bain Seath and Holbrook (KBSH), an institutional money manager for corporate pension plans and other endowment funds. While there, for the ten years from 1990 to 2000, Michael’s small/mid cap fund had a compound annualized return of 32% in Canadian equities and grew from an initial $20 million to $1.2 billion. After fifteen years at KBSH, Michael left in 2000 to start Galileo Global Investment Advisors to manage both institutional and retail mutual funds. Michael has been actively involved in charitable work in Vietnam and Cambodia, building schools, houses, clean water supplies and other community support both privately and through Plan Canada and his charitable foundation, Kids in Class.
